Getting an Interact Club started
Every Interact Club and every Rotary Club was started with one or two people who decided to "make it happen".
- You can download the Interact Brochure and print out copies to give to your friends and others you think may be interested.
- You can print out the Interact Handbook to familiarise yourself with how an Interact Club works.
- Find out which Rotary Club looks after your school and make contact with their Youth Director.
- Talk to the school Principal and let him / her know that there is interest within the school for starting a club.
- Arrange to talk to the students at assembly to raise awareness and announce a time for an Interest meeting.
- Try and arrange for a Rotarian to attend the Interest meeting.
Some of the key benefits of Interact include:
- Learning planning, leadership and organisational skills.
- Making new friends within your school
- Making new friends from other Interact Clubs.
- Making a difference in your community and in the world.
Remember, Interact is an "autonomous" club. That means, the members run the club themselves. It is not run by a teacher, or by Rotary. You get to choose your own projects and the sky is the limit! |
