The Organising CommitteeThe three Interact Presidents (Richard Bell - JPC, Shannon Stewart (RLHS) and Kaitlyn Gooch, meet fortnightly with Rotary's District Interact Committee, but as Rotorua Has Talent drew near, this became every week. Past Presidents Niah Taylor (RHGS) and Rachel Hoyle also deserve and honourable mention. The District 9930 Committee includes District Chair Robert Lee (Rotary Club of Rotorua Sunrise), Henry Van Twuiver (Rotary Club of Rotorua Lakes), Dr Anne Walsh & Deb Bell (Rotary Club of Rotorua Sunrise). Dennis and Evelyn Falcolner joined the team with Dennis taking charge of Production and Evelyn being appointed Head Judge. Apart from visiting each of the high schools and selecting the best talent, Evelyn was also responsible for selecting the other judges. Evelyn was the first Rotary Exchange student to go to England way back when she was a "7th former". RGHS Teacher Haley Hodge has also attended many meetings. She is the RGHS Interact Support Teacher. A couple of years ago, she was selected by Rotary to go on a Group Study Exchange, which was a six week trip to Scotland, staying with Rotarians and having the opportunity to visit Scottish Schools to see how they do things. The Interact Clubs of Rotorua Lakes High School, John Paul College & Rotorua Girls High School were responsible for running the semi-final events in their schools and helped out on the night selling tickets, ushering, selling food, production and many other ways. |
